About

Who We Are

Project-44 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Fort Worth, Texas. It was created with the mission of going beyond the walls of the church to serve those in need where they need it.

Our Mission

The name Project-44 refers to the Book of Acts – the 44th book in the Bible. Acts 2:22-47 describes the early church as a community rooted in the teachings of Jesus that used its resources to help those in need. We attempt to live out that same model through our ministries and services.

What began as a ministry to gift donated vehicles to those in need of reliable transportation, Project-44 has expanded to include a counseling ministry, support of local food pantries, and the creation of a trade school in Liberia, Africa.

Our Founders

Ben and Margret Fields are co-founders of Project-44. They have been married since 1994. Ben is an auto technician who owns and operates an auto repair shop in Fort Worth, Texas. Margret is an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church, serving as an Associate Pastor. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor and coordinates the counseling services offered by Project-44.

They have been active in faith communities since they were first married, and they have developed a passion for mission work. It was as a result of this call to help people where they are that led them to form Project-44. Their commitment to assisting in the community is a testament to their desire to follow the words of John Wesley:

“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”
