“We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”
Martin Luther King Jr. – Washington National Cathedral, March 31, 1968
Today we honor the memory of Martin Luther King Jr, whose dream of equality and justice has not lost its relevance in the years since he left us. His was a rational but passionate voice crying out in a time of deep division. Today may his words again bring hope to a world plagued by division and hate. The people of Project-44 are grateful for Martin Luther King Jr., and his dream of a world united with love and compassion.
Good day to you all.
I spoke on Human Relations Day and on Dr. King’s “Beloved Community “ yesterday.
It felt good. Afterwards a church member told me she had never heard that type of thing from someone at a pulpit.
I wonder why not? There in lies part of the miscue between seekers and the church, I think.
Take care ,
John
