Persistent Prayer

Prayer is not an activity reserved for Sunday mornings or special occasions. As with any relationship, being in connection with God requires continual communication. No matter how busy we are or how many distractions compete for our attention, finding time for prayer needs to be a priority. As we enter the season of Lent, commit yourself to spend more time in conversation with God. The people of Project-44 pray that you hear God’s voice above the noise of the world.

Selfless

Author C.S. Lewis wrote that using the term “unselfish” is a negative way to describe a positive virtue. Defining ourselves as unselfish suggests that our abstinence is the point of our actions. Christian love is not about denying ourselves but securing good things for others. The people of Project-44 pray that you find ways to show selfless generosity this week.

Humble Oneself

In a world obsessed with “likes” and “follows,” we could all use a dose of humility. If we each focus on extending compassion, grace, and gratitude, we humble ourselves before God and each other. The people of Project-44 pray that you find time to cultivate humility amid the pressure to place yourself above all else.

The Church is All Around

Too often, we think of the Church as just a building or institution. But the Church is all around us. We, collectively, are the Church when we join together in community, service, and fellowship. The people of Project-44 pray that you look beyond the narrow view of the Church this week and treat the community that surrounds you as a place for service and fellowship.

MLK Day 2023

“We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

Martin Luther King Jr. – Washington National Cathedral, March 31, 1968

Today we honor the memory of Martin Luther King Jr, whose dream of equality and justice has not lost its relevance in the years since he left us. His was a rational but passionate voice crying out in a time of deep division. Today may his words again bring hope to a world plagued by division and hate. The people of Project-44 are grateful for Martin Luther King Jr., and his dream of a world united with love and compassion.

Time Flies!

We’re back with your Monday inspiration! If you constantly feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done, remember that you are ultimately in charge of how you use your time. The people of Project-44 pray that you use your time wisely this week and that you spend some of that precious resource with God.
